Dunwoodie Architecture and Design Education Project:

Pennywell Early Year's Centre
Client: City of Sunderland Council Scheme Value: £600,000
The project comprises an extension to Pennywell Early Year's Centre which is developing into a Children's Centre.

The development was to provide a range of spaces for the children and staff, including a play space for children ages 0-2, external play space, staff room and multi-purpose/interview rooms for parent education.

The use of open trusses, rooflights, neutral colour scheme and a natural finishes to elements were used to create a spacious environment.

Dunwoodie Architecture and Design Education Project:

Hutton Design Centre, Sunderland
Client: University of Sunderland Scheme Value: £940,000
The 'Hutton' commission provided an exciting opportunity for a new School of Arts, Design, Media & Culture.

The four storey building has been refurbished with two new extensions added for the various disciplines.

A new School's image developed with the front entrance proposal. A dynamic glazed facade opposes the solidity of white render to form a contemporary insight to the creative minds and studies within.

Dunwoodie Architecture and Design Education Project:

St. Peter's Gate, Sunderland
Client: University of Sunderland Scheme Value: £2,000,000
Situated on the River Wear and part of an urban regeneration area, this linear building type has been developed to maximise the dynamic panorama.

Working with the natural geography and historical context, the building and infrastructure accommodates all the functional expectations demanded from starter tenants, within a business environment.

The facility, designed to retain academics within the ICT sector, encourages the establishment of businesses and to meet future growth demands in this field.
